Also known as "Double Whiskers”, the Diplomystus was an open water feeder whose diet consisted of small invertebrates and other small fish. Over 50 million years ago, the Diplomystus thrived in the Green River Formation, now modern-day Wyoming. The unique fine-grained muddy bottom slowed decomposition and preserved layers upon layers of well preserved prehistoric corpses.
